Science

The UNCCD Science-Policy Interface is comprised of 35 experts working to ensure the delivery of policy-relevant information, knowledge and advice to support the implementation of the Convention.
The SPI helps transform the latest scientific breakthroughs into a compelling, evidence-based narrative that supports global action on sustainable land and water management and building resilience to drought. This includes taking the scientific lead on the Global Land Outlook and collaborating with other intergovernmental science bodies and panels.
The Work Programme of the SPI is determined by the UNCCD Committee on Science and Technology (CST), and the members are selected by the CST Bureau following an open application process.
