CBI’s expertise in remote sensing, spatial analysis and decision-support tools contribute to preserving and restoring land; improving soil health and groundwater recharge; and enhancing habitat connectivity at local, regional and global scales. Intense wildfire events are a common precursor to land degradation and desertification. The Global Wildfire Collective, a flagship CBI initiative, is creating resilience and recovery strategies that maximize well-being in ecological and social systems.
