Implements a programme to ensure the sustainable use of water through the involvement of people. Organizes regular courses and professional training on environmental education. Produces environmental material for teachers. Manages the project “Sustainable Castro Verde” to reconcile agricultural activities and rural development with the conservation of protected species and biodiversity, particularly with the development of soil protection measures and technology to combat desertification. Implements a project to combat desertification in Low Alentejo. Promotes natural heritage, landscape planning and sustainable management of forest and woodland, together with herding and agriculture, in order to facilitate sustainable development of rural lands affected by desertification.
