The themes of URBEM’s work are reforestation, urban resilience to climate change, increasing biodiversity and connecting people to nature and each other. To reach our goals we aim to increase the square footage of reforested scrubland across our city in numerous locations using indigenous species we have grown from our own nursery. Our activities include using the Miyawaki fast forest method to create thriving native forests and community hubs with our network of 1000 volunteers.
