The Yeheb Project
Description
Seeks to restore degraded land by addressing land erosion, over-grazing and desertification. The Yeheb Project works with communities in the drylands of the Horn of Africa to domesticate the yeheb shrub (Cordeauxia edulis) as a reliable, drought-resistant source of food and fodder. Addressing food insecurity and the over-exploitation of scarce resources reduces poverty and the underlying causes of conflict. The charity also undertakes research and disseminates information on the yeheb plant.
