Accredited CSO
The UNCCD COP recognizes that the involvement and participation of the civil society is vital to the successful implementation of this Convention. It therefore welcomes the contribution of CSOs, with particular regard to non-governmental organizations (NGOs), to the official meetings of the UNCCD.
Representatives from CSOs that are accredited to the COP may directly participate in the UNCCD secretariat’s sessions. At these sessions CSOs are consulted on United Nation’s policy and programme matters. They also play key roles at major United Nations conferences as indispensable partners for efforts at the country level. Below are the current accredited CSO's to the Convention.
Pro Eco Azuero is a nonprofit organization based in Panama's Azuero Peninsula that focuses on restoring and protecting tropical dry forests through reforestation, sustainable land management, and environmental education. Our work centers around creating a 25,000-hectare biological corridor to protect native species like the endangered Azuero Spider Monkey. We collaborate with local communities, landowners, and volunteers in order to meet our sustainability goals.

Generation Restoration (GenR) is an international initiative transforming refugee camps and displaced communities into regenerative, resilient ecosystems. GenR promotes permaculture, agroforestry, agroecology, composting, and ecosanitation (e.g. compost toilets), turning waste into resources. AFRICE works with Ugandan communities to revive indigenous knowledge, agroecology and traditional governance for food, land and ecosystem conservation. Key themes include ecosystem restoration, biodiversity protection, revival of indigenous seeds, traditional farming systems & agroecology, sacred natural site protection, and climate mitigation. Its aims are to strengthen local ecological governance, cultural practices and resilience to land degradation.
CITE advances land restoration and climate resilience in Haiti through mangrove reforestation, circular plastic economy, and climate-smart agriculture for women and youth. Our activities promote soil protection, sustainable livelihoods, and community adaptation, directly supporting UNCCD’s Land Degradation Neutrality targets.
CENDEP promotes sustainable land management through analogue forestry, soil fertility restoration, and community-based reforestation. Its work strengthens food security and climate adaptation for vulnerable rural groups, while preventing soil degradation. CENDEP also advances water and sanitation initiatives, supports agroecology in farming and pastoralism, and contributes to climate mitigation.
