Accredited CSO
The UNCCD COP recognizes that the involvement and participation of the civil society is vital to the successful implementation of this Convention. It therefore welcomes the contribution of CSOs, with particular regard to non-governmental organizations (NGOs), to the official meetings of the UNCCD.
Representatives from CSOs that are accredited to the COP may directly participate in the UNCCD secretariat’s sessions. At these sessions CSOs are consulted on United Nation’s policy and programme matters. They also play key roles at major United Nations conferences as indispensable partners for efforts at the country level. Below are the current accredited CSO's to the Convention.
Socio Skills Foundation empowers youth and persons with disabilities through digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihood training. Our programs include skills for managing natural resources responsibly, promoting community-led land restoration, and strengthening socio-economic inclusion, supporting sustainable land use in South Africa.

Youth and Cultural Development Foundation (YCDF) directly aligns with the UNCCD's goals by engaging and empowering youth in sustainable land management through training, entrepreneurship, and agroecological initiatives, which helps to improve ecosystem conditions, combat land degradation, and foster resilience among vulnerable populations, thereby reducing forced migration and contributing to sustainable livelihoods and peace.
Concern, Inc. is a non-stock, non-profit, non-government organization engaged in the full disaster management cycle—from risk reduction and preparedness to emergency response, recovery, rehabilitation, and development. Guided by a people-oriented approach, it works closely with communities and local organizations, coordinates with institutions such as government, church, and academe, builds local capacities, and establishes mechanisms to sustain initiatives beyond the project period.
Herp-Ghana’s core mission is to conserve Ghana’s priority yet overlooked amphibian and reptile species by protecting and restoring their habitats. Our work focuses on establishing new protected areas and restoring priority habitats that benefit both animals and people.
Wetlands Conservation Organisation focuses on wetland restoration, sustainable land management, and community resilience. Its aim is to combat land degradation, protect biodiversity, and promote Nature-Based Solutions. Activities include peatland restoration, capacity building for youth and women, and integrating wetland targets into local and national policies.
Forest Focus promotes sustainable land management and combats land degradation by restoring degraded forests and implementing agroforestry. We empower communities to plant indigenous trees, protecting watersheds and biodiversity. Our “Plant to Stop Poverty” project provides sustainable livelihoods, reducing pressure on forests and mitigating climate change, directly supporting the UNCCD's goals.
Lead4Earth is dedicated to transforming the leadership landscape by empowering people to identify, support, and elevate leaders who prioritize climate action, sustainability, and ecosystem protection. Its mission is to connect communities with decision-makers who understand climate science and act on it, while equipping citizens with the tools and knowledge needed for informed choices.
Desperto is an initiative in Brazil dedicated to ecosystem restoration with a strong focus on agroforestry. It offers training and support for the implementation of regenerative systems, alongside ecological awareness festivals and community engagement. Through education and practical action, the project helps restore soils, water cycles, and biodiversity while fostering sustainable livelihoods.
Cescawr Programme promotes climate adaptation and resilience by empowering vulnerable communities through sustainable agriculture, pastoralism, and food security initiatives. Our activities focus on combating soil degradation, advancing sustainable land management, and enhancing forest conservation to protect ecosystems and livelihoods under changing climate conditions
