The Capacity Building Marketplace (CBM) was one of the main highlights of the UNCCD’s stand at the just concluded Global Festival of Action for Sustainable Development held last week at the Bonn World Conference Center.
Here the CBM team shared with participants of the festival information of the great opportunities and possibilities offered on the Marketplace; invited the young visitors to become involved in the sustainable development process; and explained the importance of achieving Land Degradation Neutrality to the realization of the SDGs in general.
The CBM team comprising Raluca Ionita (Romania), Daniel Gonzalez Carmena (Spain), and Philip Kendekka Sinyan (The Gambia) actively demonstrated that this Marketplace is created by young people ready to engage the world in support of sustainable development.
Visitors to the UNCCD stand were able to take the CBM quiz on sustainable development where winners were offered a valuable UNCCD package.
Visitors to the UNCCD stand expressed great interest in the CBM platform and its role in the Convention process. Many representatives of various organizations and other institutions expressed their intention of establishing collaborations and partnerships between the CBM and their own platforms.
The Lord Major of Bonn was also impressed with the CBM.
