The ASA is a network that defends, propagates and implements, including through public policies, the political project of coexistence with semiarid conditions. It is a network because it is formed by more than three thousand civil society organizations of different natures - rural unions, farmers' associations and farmers, cooperatives, NGOs, Oscip, etc.
This network connects people organized in entities that operate throughout the semi-arid defending the rights of people and communities in the region. The entities that are part of the ASA are organized in forums and networks in the 10 states that make up the Brazilian Semi-Arid (MG, BA, SE, AL, PE, PB, RN, CE, IP and MA).
