About the committe

In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan PR-436 dated on August 7, 2006 "On measures to improve the coordination and management of the development of science and technology" under the Cabinet of Ministers it has been decided to establish the Committee for Coordination of Science and Technology development, which also includes the adminstrators of the economical sectors , large enterprises and leading scientists of the country.

According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan the main functions of the CCSTD are considered to be the followings:

  • Prior principles of development of science and technology in cooperation with the Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education, other ministries and departments, taking into account the objectives of social - economic, social and political development of the country, the achievements of modern science; - Maintaining coordination of scientific research institutes and institutions, design organizations, institutions of higher education ministries and departments, the Academy of Sciences for the implementation of prior directions of science and technology;
  • Organizing and managing effective monitoring of the scientific and technical programs and projects, as well as the use of the results of scientific research in various sectors of the economy, industry, education.
  • Supporting mutually beneficial international scientific and technical cooperation, attraction of foreign investments in the scientific sphere of the country, promoting scientific organizations, scientists and specialists of the republic in the framework of participation in international programs and competitions of scientific projects.
  • Decisions and resolutions of the Committee for Coordination of Science and Technology Development (CCSTD) are allowed to be brought into practice by the Executive Office of the CCSTD.
