Combating Desertification in Mediterranean Europe: Linking Science with Stakeholders (DESERTLINKS)

DESERTLINKS is a European, international and interdisciplinary research project funded by the European Commission under Framework Programme 5. It will run from 1 December 2001 to 30 November 2004.

Its primary objective is to contribute to the work of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification by developing a desertification indicator system for Mediterranean Europe.

DESERTLINKS involves eleven research groups from universities and institutes in Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
