Since 2010, reporting has been done through the Performance Review and Assessment of Implementation System (PRAIS). The latest version, PRAIS 4, includes several key features:
- A user-friendly interface, including web-based reporting forms pre-filled with default data from global data sources, for Parties to either accept or reject
- A centralized database to securely store and manage data submitted by countries
- Enhanced geospatial data management, which allows users to define the location and boundaries of land degradation hotspots or voluntary Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) target zones
- Standalone country reports that summarize entered information, which can be downloaded and shared outside the system
Reports submitted through PRAIS 4 during the 2022 national reporting process have been further analyzed and synthesized to communicate global, regional and sub-regional estimates for land degradation and drought, which are available through the UNCCD Data Dashboard.
In August 2025, the UNCCD secretariat has launched the updated PRAIS 4 for the 2026 national reporting process.
National Focal Points and/or their designated Reporting Officers can access the PRAIS 4 portal here.
