Work experience
I have been an active researcher and professor specializing on infectious diseases of animals. I have handled several research and human resource development projects funded by national and international agencies including ICAR, DBT, USDA & BBSRC, UK as Principal/Co-Principal investigator. I have supervised several Master’s and Ph.D. Scholars in areas of Animal Biotechnology and Veterinary Microbiology. As Assistant Director General (Animal Health) I have been responsible for supervision of all Indian Network and Coordinated project, policy guidance and management of research projects being funded by Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi. As Director of Indian Veterinary Research Institute, I have been responsible for research, teaching and extension management and over all guidance in broad area of Veterinary and Animal Sciences. I have also been advising the researchers in different divisions of the institute in area of IPR and technology commercialization.
