Work experience
Dr. Baqri has made significant contributions in Nematology (Agricultural Zoology) during the last three decades. He has described over 110 new taxa, including new genera and subfamilies of the Orders Tylenchida, Dorylaimida and Mononchida. His extensive taxonomical revisionary work has removed many taxonomic confusion and provided stability to the taxa. Dr. Baqri's work on taxonomy of Dorylaimida has been acclaimed the world over. His survey and faunistic work on nematodes from Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Sikkim and Rajasthan States of India, besides the revisionary work on the nematodes from Congo has opened new doors for the scientists involved in the applied work. He has also got training in Japan on the operation of SEM for the study of ultrastructures of nematodes. Dr. Baqri has published independently or with colleagues, three books, two monographs and about 100 research papers.
