Work experience
I have been leading a research group on land restoration to combat desertification for 18 years in CEAM. We conduct RTD work to support forest managers activities in fire management, post-fire and semi-arid degraded land restoration. In addition, we collaborate with the Forest Administration in the implementation of the research results in pilot and demonstration projects at real scale. I have coordinated five European Comission research projects so far, related to land restoration, in the context of desertification in the Mediterranean and other regions included in the UNCCD annexes. Our group develops intense national and international training and dissemination activities, especially at post-graduate level.
Highest Academic achievement and qualification
Ph.D. in Biology, rate: distinction cum laude: Forest Soils; Universidad Barcelona, 1983.
