Work experience
I was a professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering School and Department for 35 years at Escuela Politécnica Nacional of Quito, Ecuador, where I thought several classes and as part of my duties I did research and extension service both scientific and technical. I have worked in a research project related to arid zones in Ibero America as well as in defining arid indices in southern Ecuador (Loja and El Oro Provinces). I directed thesis work and a research Project in climate and variability change and water resources in the Antisana Volcano and in the Cayambe volcano in Ecuador. As part of the CYTED project I worked in the degradation of high altitude ecosystems (paramos, morreins). I did direct the project related to the modeling of lahars coming from a possible eruption of the Cotopaxi volcano in Ecuador. I was member of the Brazilian Scientific Committee project Large Scale Biosphere Atmosphere experiment in Amazonia.
