Work experience
Over 30 years Umid Abdullaev has professional experience in water and agricultural sectors in Uzbekistan and Central Asian countries, specializing in the preparation, management, planning and design of the feasibility study and technical projects. Since 1994 he has significant experience in design development and coordination activities of the national teams and collaboration with international specialists in the framework of the World Bank programmers’ and projects, including Aral Sea Programme (1994-1997), Uzbekistan Drainage Project (1996-2002),implemented jointly with JV Mott MacDonald (UK) and Temelsu (Turkey), Uzbekistan Irrigation & Drainage Development Strategy (2000), as well as Project of Southern Hungry Steppe Canal Modernization, jointly with the BRL company (France), etc. He familiar with the IWRM approach and principles, capacity building methods, SLM best practices, water modeling and decision support systems.
