As principal investigator, I chaired the following projects: (1) The Knowledge Innovation Major Projects of CAS titled “Experimental & Demonstrative researches on the integrative eco-environmental administration for Hunshandake sand and Northern-to-Beijing agro-pastoral ecotone”2000-2004; (2) The Knowledge Innovation Major Projects of CAS titled “Experimental & Demonstrative researches on the adaptive management and sustainable development of Xilingol grassland”(2004-2008); (3) State Key Basic Research Development Program of China titled “The scientific foundation for sustainable and adaptive management of Ecosystems in grasslands and agro-pastoral ecotone in Northern China”(2006-2011); (4) Innovative group research grant from the National Natural Science foundation of China, “Ecological Study on the effects of Global change on the Grasslands in Northern China”(2006 till now).
