Work experience
My researches have been supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, Chinese Academy of Sciences, NSF of USA etc. Two 973 program I undertook have been successfully accomplished. Now I am Chinese chief scientist of the Sino-US cooperative research program and I am also the chief scientist of the 973 program started last year and China Continental Scientific Drilling Program. Since last decades, more than 6000 meters core sediments were acquired in different climatic environment, except for the records of tree ring, speleothem, peat and coral etc. Different proxies have been analyzed to reconstruct the paleoclimate changes. I have proposed the“paleomonsoon control theory” and a dynamic model for the evolution history of Asian monsoon-arid environment in China and its relationship with the growth of Tibetan plateau
