Ahmet Şenyaz
Ahmet Şenyaz is forest engineer and advisor to the Ministry, at the General Directorate of Combating Desertification, under the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change in Türkiye. Dr. Şenyaz holds his PhD in forest fires economics from the Institute of Science, Istanbul University.
He worked as the Head of Research and Development Department to coordinate forestry research projects and activities of 11 forest research institutes. In addition, he coordinated forest health monitoring programme (ICP Forest) and the activities of national working group for LULUCF emission inventory.
He was the co-chair of UNCCD Intergovernmental Working Group on Future Strategic Framework (IWG-FSF) to formulate the UNCCD 2018-2030 Strategic Framework. He worked as a member of CST Bureau and SPI from 2017 to 2019. He contributed to the report of SPI on “Creating an Enabling Environment for Land Degradation Neutrality and its potential contribution to enhancing well-being, livelihoods and the environment”. He also worked as a member of the CRIC Bureau from 2019 to 2022. He assumed the responsibility of acting chair of the CRIC 19.
