Armando López Santos
Armando López Santos is a professor of the Autonomous Chapingo University with adscription in the Arid Land Faculty, located in Bermejillo, Durango, Mexico. He started off his career in this Institution more than 20 years ago and has been strenghthening linkages between teaching, research and stakeholders, for the improvement in living standard of dryland settlers. During his work as a professional consultant accredited by Mexican Federal Funds (FIRA-Mexico), he worked in the design and execution of rural projects. In the past five years he has been part of research projects related to the study of climate change and its local effects in northern and central Mexico. As a result of this, in 2014, he obtained the State Prize for Science, Technology and Innovation award by the Council of Science and Technology of the State of Durango. In this same year, he was recognized as National Researcher, level 1 (SNI-1) and refreshed in 2016 at the same level by the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACyT) of Mexico. Over the past few years, he has been part of the Main Academic Group of teaching in the Graduate Program (Master and Doctorate) in Natural Resources and Environmental of Arid Lands in the same University, and is currently at the Aguascalientes Autonomous University and plays a leading role in linking soil ersosion research issues with the Graduate Program.
