Alla Aleksanyan

Dr. Alla Aleksanyan is a highly accomplished environmental scientist and policy advisor with a strong research background in biodiversity conservation, ecosystem management and environmental governance. With over 15 years of experience, she has led high-impact projects at the intersection of science and policy, providing strategic guidance for conservation planning, sustainable resource management and environmental policy reforms. Holding a PhD in Biology with a focus on biodiversity and ecology, Dr. Aleksanyan has made significant contributions to ecosystem monitoring, invasive species management and climate adaptation strategies. She has played a leading role in developing national biodiversity strategies, ecosystem accounting frameworks and conservation policies, ensuring alignment with international standards such as the Global Biodiversity Framework(GBF) and EU environmental directives. 

As a trusted consultant and advisor, she has worked extensively with governments, research institutions and international organizations including IPBES, IUCN, UNDP and the World Bank. She has provided expert analysis for protected area management, ecosystem services valuation and natural capital integration into policymaking, ensuring evidencebased decision-making in environmental governance. A prolific researcher, Dr. Aleksanyan has authored over 65 scientific publications and two monographs, contributing to global discussions on biodiversity conservation and ecosystem resilience. She continues to bridge scientific research with policy implementation, shaping sustainable environmental strategies at national and international levels.
