Felicia O. Akinyemi
Felicia O. Akinyemi is a Senior Researcher and a Marie Curie Research Fellow researcher at the Institute of Geography, University of Bern, Switzerland. A certified Geographic Information System professional (GISP), she focuses on land system change and how these influences the resilience of social-ecological systems, especially agroecosystems. Working with mixed methods combining quantitative (e.g., satellite Remote Sensing time series) with qualitative methods (e.g., stakeholder perception and social survey), the current research models farming systems behavior under changing land use conditions at multidecadal time scale. Contributions are made to the development of GeoAI and Remote Sensing-based metrics for assessing land degradation, and crop type mapping in drylands, temperate and tropical rainforest regions.
