Elaborates and develops programmes and projects orientated to the conservation of natural_x000D_ resources and the environment. Promotes alternative policies to conserve biodiversity through_x000D_ education, awareness-raising and implementation of thematic programmes. Carries out actions_x000D_ aimed at the protection of the environment, and the sustainable management of protected areas,_x000D_ including forestry reserves. Undertakes, in collaboration with public and private organizations,_x000D_ activities for environmental education. Provides support, advice and specialized assistance to_x000D_ other organizations in environment matters. Implements a project on bee-keeping in marginal_x000D_ areas of the forest located in dry and semi-humid areas. Carries out agroforestry programmes_x000D_ with farmer communities. Promotes the growing of organic products in family orchards through_x000D_ a bio-intensive method (no machinery or chemical fertilizers and reduced water use) and the_x000D_ production of their own seeds.
