Silva is a non-profit organization located in Japan dedicated to forestry rehabilitation through ecological restoration, education and advocacy in partnership with local communities. Silva utilizes the field proven "Miyawaki Forest Method," developed by world known late botanist, Dr. Akira Miyawaki. This method accelerates forest regeneration 10 to 20 times faster using a dense-mixed planting method with plants grown from locally-sourced seedlings containing its original genes native region.
