Hakan Gülerce is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Marmara University, Institute of Population and Social Research, where he coordinates the Youth Work Master’s Programme and Mig-Lab. His academic work focuses on youth studies, youth work, migration, social cohesion, gender, disasters and sustainability. He completed his M.A. in Social Structure and Social Change and his Ph.D. in Sociology at Istanbul University. Dr. Gülerce has extensive experience in international research and project coordination, particularly within European cooperation frameworks such as Erasmus+ and the RAY Network (Research-based Analysis of European Youth Programmes) representing Turkish National Agency. He also worked as a Gender Expert for the FAO Türkiye Office, where he prepared several analytical reports on gender and rural development. His work bridges sociology, youth work, and policy-practice oriented research, focusing on youth participation, migration, diversity and inclusive social development.
