Champion for combating desertification
Launching her professional sporting career in her late 20s, Asmaa Niang became a six-time African Champion and competed at the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games. In addition to her athletic and professional achievements, she advocates for rural women through the Yzza Slaoui Foundation and founded Kintsugi-Vibes, an organization that supports mental health among vulnerable athletes and communities affected by desertification in Morocco.
