Work experience
I have been working on environmental matters since 1993 when I was involved with investigation of tanning effluents’ effects on spinach growth and quality. Other works carried out with the effluent include remediation of Challawa river (Kano) and comparative assessment of pollution loading of effluents derived from two different tanning processes. Some works were also carried out on pollution of soil and water by petroleum oil and petroleum products. The works in this area include bioremediation of soils contaminated with lubricating oil and development of organic sorbents for oil spill clean-up _x000D_
Furthermore, studies were carried out on the screening of refrigerants for their climate change effects by assessing their refrigeration capacities, global warming and ozone depleting potentials, etc. _x000D_
