Work experience
Engaged in variety of research projects that use satellite remote sensing and geographic information systems (GIS) technologies for environmental monitoring, natural resources management, and topographic mapping in the U.S., Kenya, Indonesia, China, and Mongolia. Major duties for project activities included pasture resources monitoring from space in Mongolia and semi-arid China, agricultural land use mapping in Indonesia, topographic mapping and spatial data infrastructure development in semi-arid Kenya, wetland vegetation mapping in the United States. Currently involved in an international collaborative research project for expedited pasturage mapping from space for the sustainable and climate-risk resilient pastoralism in the semi-arid of Mongolia.
