- geoinformational mapping and spatial modelling of land degradation;
- physical geography, geomorphology, land system analysis, using remote sensing data for monitoring and management of natural resources;
- collaboration with experts from agriculture, soil science, forestry, hydrology, etc. in the field of GIS-mapping and spatial analysis of land degradation.
- Dzmitry Kurlovich is a leading specialist in the field of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in the Republic of Belarus, having established a scientific school in the field of geoinformatics at the Faculty of Geography and Geoinformatics of the of the Belarussian State University. He has been in charge of more than 25 research projects.
