Work experience
Since 2007 to present, I am working for the JIRCAS project, titled “Improvement of fertility of sandy Soils in the semi-arid zone of West Africa through organic matter management” in region, Fakara, Niger. In this project, I am working as a regional team leader with collaboration with ICRISAT (International Crop Research Institute for Semi-Arid Tropics) and INRAN (National Agricultural Research Institute of Niger). In this project, we have been developing some technology options for soil management such as intercropping and rotation system of millet with improved variety of cowpea, utilization of organic and inorganic fertilizer to the field, rotation of vegetable cultivation in dry season to millet cultivation in rainy season and so on. We are also trying to modify our technologies into more appropriate ones for regional farmers to adopt them continuously through farmers participatory approach with consideration of gender issues.
