Work experience
My career commenced with a 14 year work experience with a World Bank Assisted Afforestation Project in Kano, between 1990 and 2004. The basic thrust of that experience was to provide guidance for the identification of priority areas for tree-crop research and consultancies and their implementation in Nigeria’s Afforestation Program. I was also responsible for the provision of technical specifications for tree nursery development, shelterbelt establishment, farm-forestry and agroforestry systems in Nigerias arid zone states._x000D_
Between 2004 and now, my services were invited by the Department of Geography, Bayero University, Kano as Lecturer I, and have now risen to an Associate Professor of Geography. The basic thrust in this university job has been teaching and research. _x000D_
