Main concerns in Soil Physics, Hydrology and Water Resources Development and Management. Chief Scientific Investigator of over twenty research and development projects with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the US Agency for International Development (AID), the European Commission, and several private and governmental agencies. Expert Consultant with FAO, IAEA and several regional organizations on drought mitigation (Kenya, Ethiopia, Erythrea, Uganda, Sudan, Djibouti), irrigation and water management (Tunisia, Jordan, Lybia), design of research strategies and evaluation of research on water use efficiency (Sri Lanka, Côte d'Ivoire). Former lecturer at the University of California, Davis, Dept of Land, Air and Water Resources and Division of Statistics.
