Daniel Van Assche

Daniel VAN ASSCHE serves as the co-chair for IWG MTE. He has a Masters degree in political science, complemented by Asian Studies and Business Administration at the Catholic University of Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium). He joined the European Commission in 2001, working in External Relations, notably for Environmental and Climate change actions. He started to work for the Directorate-General for the Environment in 2019 with the aim of contributing to the definition of environmental policies and specific projects. Deeply interested in the practical implementation of nature conservation policies, feeling the need to be connected with it and to transmit his passion, he became nature-guide with the Circles of Naturalists of Belgium.
