Youth Forum

The Youth Forum is a platform for youth to voice their commitments toward achieving land degradation neutrality, build their capacities and create opportunities to combat land degradation and drought, and share their experiences in combating desertification.

Building on the success of the Youth Forums organized at previous COPs, the fourth UNCCD Youth Forum at UNCCD COP16 will address youth's challenges in accessing decent land-based jobs, support the meaningful engagement of youth in the implementation of the Convention, and explore the enabling environment and policies to stimulate the engagement of young agripreneurs.

The Forum will bring together young farmers, young entrepreneurs and youth activists, aiming to reinforce their capacities, share knowledge and create networks, focusing on:

• Land jobs of the future and the sustainable use of land
• Green economy and youth employment
• Engagement of the youth in advocating for the protection and rehabilitation of the land

Youth negotiators at the COP will also receive in-depth training, enabling them to become future decision-makers on land and drought issues, well-equipped to lead future conservation efforts.
