Civil society organizations panel

The Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) accredited to UNCCD have elected the members of the new UNCCD CSO panel, to serve until COP17 in 2026. The new panel members are:

  • Ms. Ellen Otaru-Okoedion from Journalist Environmental Association of Tanzania, representing Africa
  • Mr.  Amiya Prapan Chakra Borty from Dhrubotara Youth Development Foundation (Bangladesh), representing Asia
  • Ms. Marioldy Sanchez from AIDER (Peru), representing Latin America and the Caribbean
  • Mr. Andrew Morris from British Society of Soil Science (UK) representing Western Europe and others Group

Elections for the Eastern European Group representative are underway. Ms. Sopiko Babalashvili (CENN / Young Professionals for Agricultural Development) will remain on the panel until a new representative is elected.
