Youth Forum

The Youth Forum is a platform for youth to voice their commitments toward achieving land degradation neutrality, build their capacities and opportunities to work toward combating desertification, land degradation and drought, and share their experiences in combating desertification.

Building on the success of the Youth Forums organized at COP13 and COP14, the third UNCCD Youth Forum will be held on 8 and 9 of May 2022 to present youth challenges in accessing decent land-based jobs, support the meaningful engagement of the youth in the implementation of the UNCCD, and the necessary enabling environment and policies to stimulate the establishment of young eco- and agripreneurs.

This two-day meeting will bring together young farmers, young entrepreneurs and other youth representatives. It will aim at reinforcing their capacities, share their knowledge and create networks, and will specifically focus on:

• Land jobs of the future and the sustainable use of land
• Green economy and youth employment
• Meaningful engagement of the youth in advocating for the protection and rehabilitation of the land
