Research and academia
Since its foundation, UNCCD has created a network of academics, scientists, researchers and media partners. We work with these partners to promote our vision of healthy and productive land. This partnership is vital to achieve our goals, as it allows us to access the latest science and promote our work more effectively.
Of notable mention is our collaboration with the World Overview of Conservation Approaches and Technologies (WOCAT) where we developed a database that allows specialists to share sustainable land management technologies. This database has more than 2,000 registered users and 60 participating institutions, as well as information about 30 national and regional initiatives.
We also work with the Global Strategic Communications Council (GSCC), The Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) and the United Nations University Institute for Environment and Human Security
