Five regional implementation annexes—covering Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), the Northern Mediterranean, and Central and Eastern Europe—play a central role in guiding how the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) is implemented.

Each annex outlines region-specific approaches and priorities for addressing desertification, land degradation and drought. These annexes serve as the basis for regional and subregional action programmes, which promote coordination and cooperation among countries. While Parties within each region collectively determine how to implement the Convention, most actions are carried out at the national level.
